Secret To Using Traffic Exchanges To Generate Web Traffic

One of the easiest ways to get traffic to your website is through Traffic Exchanges.

What is a Traffic Exchange?

According to Wikipedia.com, a traffic exchange is a type of website which provides a service for webmasters in exchange for traffic. It is similar to the autosurf concept with the exception that traffic exchanges usually use a manual rotation

Members sign up for an account with a traffic exchange and earn credit that can be used to show their website in the traffic exchange rotator.

Typically, anyone seeking traffic to their website can use a traffic exchange to get real people looking at their website. However, keep in mind that the person viewing your ad only has a 10-20 seconds so your website/ad must peek their curiosity. A long website with a bunch of words will not get read.

Also, if your time is valuable; click hundreds of ads every day may not be appealing. If you are short on cash click ads to receive credits may be the option for you.

The steps below outline how to get your website/ad read by traffic exchange users without having to click on ads. This method is not free BUT it is simple and it works.

Step 1. Create a splash page.

You only have 10-20 seconds to capture your prospects attention. Your visitor is clicking for credits so your ad must get their attention. You can always test this to see if you receive any opt ins by using your $150 site but if you go to the TE's you will see that the majority of the ads are splash pages. The goal here is to get the prospect to click on your ad to learn more. I have seen a few splash pages that include an autoresponder form.

Here is an example of a splash page I created for our co-op that will be running on the TE's: http://www.close-the-sales.com/150lcp.htm

If you need some examples or resources to create capture pages please let me know. You can also sign up at some of the Traffic Exchanges below then review some of the ads that are being advertised.
Step 2. Choose a Traffic Exchange (TE). You can set up more than one. There are tons of traffic exchanges. You do not have to sign up for the TE's I recommend. What is important is that you set this up on auto pilot. We don't want everyone advertising on the same TE.

Alexa.com ranks the Traffic Exchanges that get the most visitors. Please review this list also. Your team leader may also have a list
of TE's.

TE's:
Traffic Swarm - Recommended. I've used Traffic Swarm for over 5 years. I still use them today!
Adland Pro - Over 100,000 members. You can receive a lot of credits for a low price. Go to the site and click the TE link at the top.
Soaring 4 Traffic - Just signed up for this one.
Pro Click Exchange - Just signed up for this one

Step 3. Either purchase credits or upgrade. I typically purchase credits. You will need a lot of credits. Adland Pro offers the most credits at a reasonable price.

Step 4. Set up your account to add credits to your link automatically. You can do this so you will not have to surf for credits. If you prefer surfing for free that is up to you but you will need to surf a lot of sites in order to accumulate enough credits to show your website
in the traffic exchange. This can work BUT it is very time consuming.

Each TE has its own directions for auto assigning credits so please follow the sites directions.
